Back to school!
Shanti works as a cleaner at the Pench Tiger Reserve Interpretation Centre. When we first began conducting workshops at the E-Base, both her children who study in Khavasa School attended them.

Busy with her own work, Shanti would pass us by at the E-Base or outside at the Turia Gate doing activities with the students. Perhaps, that’s when her curiosity arose and she started taking interest in what we had to offer. Never having completed her education, the workshops at the E-base captured her attention and soon later, we found Shanti standing at a distance listening and watching intently while we conducted workshops.

इस कार्यशाला के माध्यम से छात्रों ने एक पेड़ के चमत्कार के बारे में सीखा। उन्होंने क्लोरोफिल के उपयोग के बारे में सीखा है, और स्याही और कारनेशन का उपयोग कर एक सरल प्रयोग के साथ, वे पौधों में केशिका संचार की एक गहरी समझ हासिल की। एक पेड़ की छाल पर छल्ले गिन करके, छात्रों ने एक पेड़ की उम्र का अनुमान लगाना सीखा।
Trees Workshop by Leaps and Bounds
Through this workshop, the students learnt about the wonders of a tree. They learnt about the function of chlorophyll, and with a simple experiment using ink and carnations, they got a deeper understanding of the capillary movement in plants. By counting the rings on the bark of a tree, the students learnt how to estimate the age of a tree.

पृथ्वी के पानी का केवल 1% भाग ही ताजा और पीने योग्य है जिसे इस ग्रह पर 7 अरब लोगों के बीच साझा किया जाता है। स्थिति की अत्यावश्यकता और अधिक स्पष्ट नहीं हो सकती! इस सप्ताह टेरी ने छात्रों के लिए पानी का सतत उपयोग नामक एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण संदेश दिया।

Only 1% of the Earth’s water is fresh and potable, which is to be shared amongst 7 billion people on this planet. The urgency of situation cannot be more obvious! This week TERI conveyed a very important message to the students; one of sustainable use of water.

हमारे ऊर्जा के संरक्षण के महत्व को ध्यान में रखते हुए, विज्ञान आश्रम कभी कभी उनके शहरों में ऊर्जा में कटौती के लिए एक टिकाऊ और किफायती समाधान से बच्चों को परिचय कराया। उन्होंने सौर मोबाइल फोन बैटरी चार्जरों के बारे में सीखा। मोबाइल फोन, भारत की जीवन रेखा, उनके रिचार्जेबल बैटरी के बिना बेकार है। इस सौर बैटरी चार्जर छात्रों में बात जारी रखने के लिए और बिजली कटौती को नाकाम करने के लिए एक शानदार तरीका साबित हुआ है!
Vigyan Ashram: LED and Water Pumps Workshop
Keeping in mind the importance of conservation of our energy, Vigyan Ashram introduced the children to a sustainable and economical solution to the energy cuts sometimes experienced in their towns. They learnt about solar mobile phone battery chargers. Mobile phones, the lifeline of India, are rendered useless without their rechargeable batteries. This solar battery charger proves to be a brilliant way to make sure the students keep talking and beat the power cuts!
‘पानी के साथ मनोरंजन’: क्यूरिओसीटी द्वारा वर्कशॉप
महासागरों में पशुओं के वितरण जैसे विषयों से लेकर, जल, बर्फ और वाष्प के भौतिक और रासायनिक गुण, जल एक संचालक के रूप में, जल ऊर्जा के स्रोत के रूप में, और सदियों से पानी के उपयोग का इतिहास के लिए पानी की शक्ति, तक यह परस्पर संवादात्मक और प्रयोगात्मक सत्र जल के साथ सब कुछ पता लगाने के लिए छात्रों के लिए एक मजेदार स्थल था।
