Yes, the excitement is brimming. Here is the first look at the books that came in for our libraries in Pench, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
In these wonderful boxes lie our books from Tara Publications, Eklavya Publications and all the lovely donations we received.
This week we were exceptionally busy at the E-Base. With all these books coming in in bulk, we got down to categorizing, registering, labeling and organizing.
The excitement on receiving our cartons from Tara and Eklavya Publications is evident as our Program Manager, Pooja, cannot contain it!
Here is the painstaking inventory process taking place for our books from Eklavya Publications. We now know one thing as we set up our library, patience should be a dear friend!
We also had a visitor at the E-Base; a volunteer to help us sort out the volume of the books that made its way to our space.
Our volunteer, Jash Koradia, working on labelling and registering the endless number of books.
We had a few volunteers in the forest guards too. We suppose everyone is excited to have the first ever library in Pench set up.
We’re looking forward to many more books joining these on our shelves.
The books begninning to make their way on our shelves. Here are a few of the books that were donated by our kind supporters.
(The E-Base library is a humble attempt to open up the world of books to the students of Pench. The importance of reading for a holistic education cannot be discounted and the E-Base library strives to fill this gap that exists by bringing to the students books from all around the world. With a choice of books on biodiversity, science, environmental conservation, Gondi folktales and encyclopedias, in both, Hindi and English, the library not only augments their general awareness and knowledge of their surroundings and its relation to the world but also inculcates an appreciation for their rich Gondi roots.)
