Another Eventful year at the E-Base

November 28, 2015 • Posted in: News, Workshops

Yet another eventful year at the E-Base has passed. Last month, the E-Base program completed four years. In the company of our wonderful students and forest guards, we celebrated four years of learning and creating appreciation for wildernesses and the tigers that reside in them. This year saw our students improve their reading skills, explore the biodiversity around them in more depth and learn yoga. Here is a quick glimpse of our anniversary celebration in Pench.

Inquiry and discovery are a huge part of the learning process at the E-Base.

This year’s celebration comprised of combining yoga and the exploration of nature. With the objective of creating awareness of how yoga and nature are interconnected, the students had a yoga session. From the Simhasana to the Vrikshasana, the students connected the dots between nature inspired yoga asanas, and how each of them is beneficial to our minds and bodies.

Trying to maintain different yoga asanas had the students giggling all through the workshop.

Our second activity for the day was creating art piece from the nature around the E-Base. Dried leave and seeds, pollen, bark and all that the students could imagine became materials for their master pieces. How lovely it is to have these hang on the walls of the E-Base and their school!

Lastly, the students did a soft toy making activity to convert their a picture of their favourite animals into physical toys. Using grocery bags, colours and crumpled newspaper the students made soft toys of tigers, deers, langurs and all the wonderful animals of their forest.

To end the eventful day, it was time to cut the cake to celebrate fours years at the E-Base. The best part of the day was over in two minutes as the cake was consumed at a record speed.

Time to cut the cake!

Looking forward to our fifth year of learning and conservation at the E-Base.
